Throughout the last week, I finished One Thread’s last fundraising event for the year
For the past all lunch periods, I have been selling bracelets to any student willing to come up to the stage and pay for one. There were some complications in the event that I have solved including not producing enough bracelets, not having specific colors some desired for, and absence of money during B and C lunches. Firstly, we had only made up to 50 bracelets, and by the end of the week, we were running really low. From a positive point of view, by the end of the week, we did sell practically all the bracelets, leaving us will not too much left to give away for free. Secondly, there was a potential buyer that came up to look at the bracelets, though she was looking for an all black bracelet. Because we did not have an all black bracelet, we did not receive that purchase. Lastly, the main problem was that because A and D lunch carried their backpacks with them, they were able to access their wallets easily. Though, because people coming from C and D lunch more than likely do not have their wallet with them, were unable to pay.
Though, some positive events did come up in regards to the promotion of the event. Because Friday involved the Bag Monster event from the AP Environmental Science class, during lunch, the bag monster ran around promoting the causes and effects of plastic waste. With having similar values, I was able to receive more awareness for fabric waste as well.
In total, we raised a little over 80 dollars, which is a pretty decent amount considering it to be our first year’s fundraising event.
Therefore, as this week comes, I can not wait to continue developing One Thread into more of a success.
