Throughout the last two weeks, I learned how to write a business plan and continued to manage Queens and Future Queens and One Thread’s social media accounts.

For DECA, I am competing in the Start-Up Business Plan event and decided to write a business plan for One Thread. With this experience of writing a ten-page business plan, I was able to think through specific details when establishing One Thread as an official company. These details include the number of employees needed to hire, the amount of membership fees One Thread would gain in its first year of operation, as well as the total cost of setting up One Thread clubs in hundreds of schools.

Throughout this time, I have also been running Queens and Future Queens and One Thread’s Instagram accounts. I think what I found to be the most interesting is what posts people will like because sometimes I will want to post something thinking it would gain plenty of attention, yet occasionally, it does not turn out to be so. Thus, it motivates me to keep posting to discover what the audience of both accounts enjoys seeing and supporting.

As for One Thread, besides the social media posts, I planned to re-decorate the recycling bulletin board in Liberty High School’s social studies hall. Although I am still waiting for administratives to give me a reply, I planned to incorporate some AP Art students in helping to decorate as well.

While I will be continuing to accomplish tasks and fulfill wishes from 2018, I hope that this new year brings additional opportunities for me to expand my horizons and make my imagination into a reality.
