Throughout last week, I have grown more by using the skills of remaining at peace and rethinking and reflecting.

Due to ISM’s Original Work being due last Friday, it was difficult to keep a peaceful mindset. I was not only hard because I found it pressurizing that something I have been so heavily one was finally being wrapped up yet the environment with everyone else being so stressed also contributed to my change of mindset. Stressing about how people might view or interpret my work or comparing how far along I am on my timeline to others’ worried me and transformed my thoughts into doubts and fear of in-completion. Although I understood that I needed to keep positive thoughts running through my head, keeping me energized and my mind cleared, the doubts and the worry also pushed me to improve myself and to produce something better than I may have imagined it to be. So, from my interpretations of this past week, I think that I should try to maintain a pure, upbeat mindset yet if my mind does run into some doubts or confusion or worrying, that I should not be scared of them and use them to my advantage.

Last Wednesday, Mrs. Holmes and I met to discuss social media posts I made for Queens and Future Queens as well as the colors and layout a successful platform includes. Thus, it made me rethink the color scheme the One Thread officers and I had chosen before. Therefore, I revamped the navy, mustard, and fuchsia into a light army green, sky blue, coral, and a light mustard yellow because I thought the lighter colors better suited the purity of One Thread’s goals and missions.

As for One Thread, due to a big storm, very few people came although, we are having our last meeting of the semester today. Because, it is our last meeting of the year as well as the meeting after I have completed our first quilt, we are celebrating with food and games. Thus, I hope that more people come to this meeting!

Because winter break is coming up, I will be focusing on writing One Thread a business plan, keeping up with the social media, and creating my display board for the ISM Research Showcase!
