Throughout the last week, the wonders of not only the ISM program's capability nor my own capability have been seen, but One Thread's as well.
As DECA District Regional Competitions occurred last Tuesday, with competing in the Start-Up Business Plan event writing it about One Thread becoming a business, I advanced to State Competitions! Originally, I was so afraid for my results because I felt as if I did not place for state competitions, my idea of One Thread and its capability as a business would fail. Thus, I felt as if I had to prove it for myself to see just how successful One Thread would really be, with the evaluation of business professionals throughout the DECA competitions. Although, now receiving the award to have the opportunity to advance to DECA State and share my idea and passion of One Thread was truly a relief to me. It was that One Thread had a chance of being successful in our current society and that One Thread's concepts could stand out from the tens of other amazing ideas competing against me.
On Wednesday, I attended the ISM Research Showcase. Being it was my first time there, I was truly blown away by the numbers of ISM students and the immense passion emulating from the stadium alone. It was the impact of the experience of walking into a room and feeling the passion that I will never forget and will forever cherish. I think I have never been in a happier place because the mentality and passion in the room were the utmost positive and strong. Thus, having the chance to participate in such an amazing, life-changing event has made me the utmost grateful. In addition, upon meeting other parents and visitors during the showcase, Mrs. Holmes and I have thought of some fundraiser ideas and what we could work on for our final product as well.
As my fourth mentor visit was on Thursday, we discussed more about how One Thread and Queens an
d Future Queen's social media has been going along with planning events for QAFQ. Although we have not mentioned the fundraising ideas yet, we are eager to begin discussing them as well.
With this past week being such a milestone, I was able to realize so much of the ISM program, One Thread, and most importantly myself. These achievements have allowed me to see where I stand and have given me various ideas and actions that I would like to implement in the future. Thus, I think for me, this week will serve as my model week, for I wish every week to be as inspiring and as motivating and impactful as this last.
