Throughout the last week, I learned the value of the want to learn.
Although I do enjoy learning as well as the process of gaining knowledge from others, through this past week, I was put to the test of if I would continue to learn even when feeling overwhelmed with knowledge already. In my opinion, the will to learn is what drives passion. Because the desire to learn is so massive, nothing holds one from not only gaining information but also reflecting and correcting past mistakes. Thus, my learning mindset aims to have that quality. Yet, after a stressful week, the busy days hindered my learning mindset from being up to par. In addition, with the last meeting with Mrs. Holmes, I have gained a lot of information. Although it has been a little overwhelming to comprehend, the energy required in process of applying the information in action is what I feel I am lacking in. I think that I could be more motivated and alert when completing needed tasks. In addition, I feel that when I am doing tasks, my mind goes blank more often and I have become less creative. Honestly speaking, I think my brain needs a week to heal but with my current timeline, taking a break is impossible. Therefore, I think I will be implementing more meditation and small relaxation habits into my life to clear my cluttered mind a little bit more.
For One Thread, we had our second meeting of our first event, cross-stitching plastic mesh to decorating the bulletin board. Seven members came to this meeting, although I forgot to take pictures. It would have been nice to have for the One Thread Instagram though, so I have to remember next time!
In conclusion, I will continue to be working on my tasks from Queens and Future Queens and the process of transitioning One Thread into a nonprofit!
