Planning Ahead

Throughout the last few weeks, including Spring Break, I began to think and plan more about the next few weeks to come.

For the mentorship with Mrs. Holmes, we have been working primarily on the award ceremony for Queens and Future Queens, thus, I have made little progress on making one Thread into a nonprofit. Though, I have also not finalized a board of directors or have created a guide for the positions of the board. Therefore, I plan to be finalizing that this week.

As for One Thread, I have decided to do a final fundraiser with the leftover scraps we have from the One Thread quilts. The fundraiser would consist of selling bracelets made from embroidery string tied around a strip of scrap fabric. We could sell each bracelet for two dollars or so to help raise money for and promote One Thread’s values and missions. In addition, I need to have finalized the website as well and am planning to finish setting up the foundation by the end of this week.

Therefore, as the next week comes, I am setting goals on finishing research for the Queens and Future Queens’s award ceremony, pamphlet for One Thread board of directors, One Thread website base, and beginning meetings to create the fundraising bracelets.
