Rethinking and Resolving

Throughout the last week, I rethinking the One Thread process.
With going on several interviews, I have begun to think of better ways to implement One Thread’s mission and values. As I continue to run the One Thread club and am in the process of building a successful organization, I have been rethinking ways to gain constant revenue and ways to create the One Thread quilts.
A common problem I am currently facing is getting the quilts sewn. We have many squares and clothing cut, though many of the squares have yet to be sewn together. Thus, I am needing to redirect members’ time spent on assisting in other areas of the quilt creation.
For funding One Thread, I am thinking of other ways I can gain money than selling One Thread bracelets. Though I plan to continue selling bracelets, which also means more time needs to be spent on making bracelets during the meetings as well, I find that to not be sustainable enough because the time inputted into each product and the cost of each bracelet is not efficient to produce money in the long run. So, I have been thinking of reselling high-quality clothing that has been donated to us. Then, we can still use the lower quality clothing for the quilts so that all One Thread missions as still held up.
In addition, for the nonprofit registration process, I will need to look for a professional in which is able to guide me through developing a successful company for my mentor. Thus, I will also be contacting professionals with organization constructing backgrounds shortly.
Overall, I think this past week and interviews have guided me to rethink much of the One Thread business process. Though it will take major time, efforts, and decision making to create a real sustainable organization (especially with me going to college next year), I am hopeful to follow through with the decisions and actions most applicable to the One Thread mission and values.
