Throughout the last week, still at home, I have been working on some donor letters.
Because of the GoFundMe being set up a little over a week ago, I have been looking at donor letters that One Thread can send to small companies or other professionals. This idea was actually sparked by my interview with Ms. Faustina Nkwocha, a co-founder of Black Women’s Wall Street. In addition, Juliy, the financial director for the One Thread nonprofit organization, asked me if there was an email we could send out to friends and family. This way, with the email approach, it is more personal and is more likely to reach the older audience that does not have access to One Thread’s social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
Furthermore, because of the Coronavirus pandemic, my mom asked if it would be appropriate to make masks out of reusable fabrics. I did a bit of research and I would need to use fabric with high percentages of cotton, like t-shirts. It would be easy to sew and put together, but it would not be a great product to be used for financial gains as we would be donating all of the masks without profit. However, it would be good publicity and may help us gain monetary donations.
I will be hosting another One Thread Board meeting this week, so I’ll be looking forward to that and what the team thinks about these new ideas!
