Stabilizing Connections

Throughout the last week, I reconnected with a past interviewee and completed One Thread’s first meeting of the year and Club Fair.

As I interviewed Mrs. Bryan, CEO of nonprofit, Compassion for Philippines, a couple of weeks before and she had invited me to her first public fundraiser, I attended Compassion for Philippines’s event last Saturday. In addition to attending the event, Mrs. Bryan was also looking for a musician or singer due to her musician dropping out last minute. Luckily enough, I knew an old friend that happened to be a singer, Kirsten Mallari. I bridged the connection between Mrs. Bryan and Kirsten and was so honored to have seen Kirsten singing at the event as well as partake in Mrs. Bryan’s fundraising raffles together. With this experience, I understood a way that I could establish connections professionally and enjoy new experiences.

Moreover, last Tuesday, the One Thread club participated at Club Fair, handing out a multitude of flyers and pitching One Thread’s cause and mission to students at Liberty High School. Overall, I think One Thread did well promoting the cause and getting students to understand and support our organization. Therefore, we had an increase in Remind101 and Instagram members as well as students that attended our club informational meeting and the first meeting on Thursday afternoon.

For this next week, I will be connecting with more professionals and upkeep my made connections.
